Meet Jason Nelson - He
is committed to defending the institution of marriage. He is pro-life and
will continue to work to promote adoption instead of abortion. He will be a champion for job
creation. He knows a vibrant and growing economy supports strong families, good health care and
great schools. He supports a strong domestic energy policy that will ease the burden of high
gasoline prices. He knows a quality education is the key to a secure future. He supports paying
teachers as the professionals they are, giving parents more options in the education of their
children, and setting higher standards of excellence.
Health Care - Jason Nelson will work to make
health insurance more affordable by providing the same tax break to individuals that
businesses receive. He will fight against those who have kept our state from moving forward
on the issue of lawsuit reform to cut health care costs. He believes that no one should
ever have to choose between food and medicine and will work to lower the cost of prescription
drugs. He will also work to eliminate unnecessary and expensive mandates. Too many times
well-intentioned people have burdened our health care system with regulations and mandates
that have caused the cost of health care and health insurance to skyrocket. He will push state
government to reexamine these burdens and eliminate those we no longer need.
Property Taxes - Property
tax has been called the 'hidden tax' because many of us don't notice it regularly. It's
also been called the 'worst tax' because it keeps going up, no matter what. - Jason
Nelson is ready to fight for real tax relief for property owners right here in
District 87. He will fight to eliminate the automatic 5% property tax increase which
now burdens every Oklahoma County home owner. Fundamentally, this is an issue about
right and wrong. It is wrong to tax people out of their homes.
Crime and Safety - Jason Nelson shares our
concerns about keeping our neighborhoods safe from crime. He understands the difficulties
faced by the law enforcement community. He is committed to leading the fight for a tougher
crackdown on crime and drugs in our neighborhoods. That's why the Oklahoma City Fraternal
Order of Police endorsed Jason Nelson for House District 87 State Representative. He will
work to ensure safety in our streets and in our homes so that families are allowed freedom
and stability. We need to get tougher on criminals - and that means locking up those
individuals who commit crimes and have no business on our streets.
